Guidance—not a purchase requirement
BurlyMingo Heritage does not require a particular camera, scanner, lens, or capture system. We need a clean, usable RAW capture in a supported format. These are practical starting points.
The BurlyMingo Heritage portable setup
The preferred portable system for BurlyMingo Heritage is the VALOI easy35 v2 Slide Scanning Kit, which combines the lens-mounted easy35 v2 with its push-through holder for mounted 35mm slides.
The kit still needs your own compatible camera and macro lens. It is our preferred portable slide recommendation—not a Heritage requirement.
Use what you own
Preferred portable slide setup
A compact, lens-mounted path for 50 × 50 mm mounted slides and 35mm film. Its slide holder and built-in light make it a particularly practical fit for portable capture work.

Scanner path
Scanner submissions require a supported RAW or approved DNG ingestion profile. TIFF and other rendered files are preflight exceptions rather than the Base Restoration minimum standard.

Avoid hotspots, gradients, reflections, and environmental light contamination.
Keep the film plane, optics, and sensor aligned and check focus throughout the collection.
A supported RAW format is the Base Restoration standard so source-preserving development has the greatest practical latitude.
