For photographers and capture professionals

A new photography service may already be sitting in your clients’ closets.

Families have boxes of slides that have been aging for decades. You can keep those irreplaceable originals local, capture them with equipment you already know, and put BurlyMingo Heritage behind your business as the restoration lab.

This is what you can deliver: a real source capture restored from surviving image information.

A familiar problem

Everybody knows someone with thousands of slides—and no safe plan for them.

They may be the only copies of childhoods, weddings, deployments, vacations, and relatives who are no longer here. Yet the collection is still in carousels and boxes because the choices feel wrong.

Too important to ship casually

Many families do not want the only copy of their history handed to a shipping company or transferred to a distant warehouse.

Too faded for basic scanning

A clean digital capture is only the beginning. Aging dye layers, severe color casts, weak contrast, and difficult exposure need a restoration process built for old film.

Too large for one-image-at-a-time editing

Thousands of frames can overwhelm a normal retouching workflow. Heritage is designed to restore collections consistently while keeping difficult images honest.

The photographer’s advantage

Be the trusted person who brings the capture service to them.

You already understand cameras, focus, exposure, careful handling, and client relationships. Capture the collection locally. Keep the physical media with the family. Send Heritage the digital working copies and let us handle the restoration backend.

  • You find and serve the customer
  • You capture with your own tested workflow
  • The physical slides never need to be shipped to us
  • You keep the original RAW captures
  • You choose what to charge for capture, travel, organization, and delivery
  • Heritage charges you only for accepted restoration work

Start with what you already own

The expensive part may already be in your camera bag.

If you already own a compatible RAW-capable camera and macro lens, a compact slide-capture kit can cost less than many new lenses. You do not need a storefront, a commercial scanner, a franchise, or your own restoration software.

01

Camera

Use a compatible RAW-capable camera you already trust. Full frame is not required.

02

Macro lens

Use a compatible macro lens that can reproduce the full slide sharply and consistently.

Equipment prices, shipping, taxes, and compatibility change. VALOI is a recommendation—not a BurlyMingo purchase requirement—and buying equipment does not guarantee customer demand or income.

A simple working relationship

Your local service. Our restoration lab.

01

Find the collection

Offer slide capture to existing clients, local families, organizers, archivists, historical groups, and referral partners.

02

Capture locally

Work at the client’s location or another arrangement you control. The family keeps custody of the physical originals.

03

Send digital captures

Create a Heritage project and transfer supported RAW or source files in manageable batches.

04

Deliver restored history

Download the finished collection and deliver it using your own brand, customer package, and retail pricing.

Know the wholesale cost

Price the customer relationship you provide—not just the restoration line.

Heritage publishes its Base Restoration rates so you can plan before accepting a collection. Your customer price may also reflect capture time, travel, cleaning, handling, project organization, storage, delivery, and the trust involved in working with irreplaceable originals.

These are BurlyMingo Heritage wholesale charges, not suggested retail prices or earnings projections. You decide whether a project makes sense for your business.

Price capture by session or engagementNo two slide collections arrive in the same condition. Storage, mounts, organization, orientation, and the amount of mechanical cleaning required with a brush or air can change capture time substantially. We recommend estimating and pricing your capture work by session or engagement rather than promising one universal per-slide capture rate.
Define what the estimate includesState the expected session length, travel boundary, ordinary handling, cleaning assumptions, organization, and what happens if the collection requires materially more work than the initial assessment suggested.

Show the work before the full commitment

Begin with a representative sample.

Create a project and upload up to three representative source captures. Heritage restores each one as a low-resolution comparison so you can see the likely result before proceeding with the complete collection.

The sample is designed to evaluate capture quality and restoration potential. It does not replace a paid full-resolution project.

  1. 1One representative normal frame
  2. 2One heavily faded or color-shifted frame
  3. 3One dark or otherwise difficult frame

A service that can fit the business you already have

Take one collection—or build a recurring local offering.

There is no membership, franchise, territory, required brand, or recurring fee. Accept occasional projects, add the service to an established photography business, or develop relationships with organizers and archives over time.

Your brand remains out front

Heritage can operate as a white-label restoration backend. Your customer relationship remains yours.

Originals remain local

BurlyMingo receives digital working copies—not the customer’s physical slides.

No income promises

This is a business opportunity—not an income promise. You decide what demand exists in your market and how to operate your business.
